Top Rated Robot Vacuums

A robot vacuum can keep floors clean enough to reduce the frequency with which you'll need to manually vacuum. Select a vacuum that has good navigation, can clean stairs and corners and has large bins that needs to be cleaned out every now and then.

There are models that clean and charge on their own This feature could be beneficial for those with pets or children. The top performers in our tests have excellent obstacle avoidance.

1. iRobot Roomba i3+ EVO

The i3+ EVO and its i3 EVO sibling, the i3 EVO are both identical robots, but they differ in that the i3+ comes with self-emptying features. The i3+ is a great option for those who want an entirely automated vacuum, hands-free cleaning experience, but are willing to manually empty the dust bin after it has filled up.

Both robots are adept at picking up surface dirt on hard floors and carpets and are able to maneuver around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software creates smart maps of your home that help the i3+ EVO to navigate and clean in a manner that maximizes efficiency. However unlike the i7+ and other top-rated robots we tested the i3+ does not have any obstacle-avoidance features, so it may get stuck on things such as socks or power cords, and it may have trouble traversing transitions across surfaces like hardwood to carpet.

iRobot recommends you clear out areas that the i3+ EVO will vacuum before you use it, including getting rid of any clutter or toys it may come across. It's also recommended to keep the dustbin and filter clear so they aren't clogged by dirt. When the i3+ EVO's internal bin is filled or the battery is low, it returns to its docking station, automatically emptying its debris into the station's dust bin and then resumes cleaning the area where it began. The battery's lifespan is around an hour-and-a-half of continuous usage. It takes about three hours to fully charge.

2. Roomba from iRobot

The iRobot i7+ is the top model in iRobot's flagship line and comes with the latest technology. It has self-charging and self-navigating. But the most significant feature is its auto-emptying bin. This removes the need for routine maintenance.

The Roomba I7+ can make rooms more efficient maps using Imprint Smart Mapping. It also integrates with the iRobot Home app to let you schedule cleaning jobs and direct your robot by voice or through the app.

The i7+ is faster and more agile in our tests than the eufy RoboVac G30. It also picked up large pet hair pieces from any surface, including carpeting. Its greatest advantage over the Eufy is its self-emptying bin which eliminates major sources of maintenance and reduces the cost of maintenance.

We were also impressed with the i7+'s compatibility with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant AI services. We used these services to instruct the robot to start, stop, or pause cleaning sessions, as well as to move around the room and to vacuum a particular area. Connecting the i7+ to these services was simple and easy with the iRobot Home app. Once connected we were able to give the i7+ voice commands like "Hey Alexa, vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home app also provides options to manage the i7+'s settings and monitoring its performance.

3. Dyson Cyclone V10

This tiny Dyson model is an athletic car that is amidst a sea of cordless vacuums that feel like minivans and buses. It's powerful enough to replace a stand-up vacuum in the majority of homes, but it is also compact enough to fit on the bookcase or coffee table.

The V10 is powered with seven cells of energy-dense Lithium-ion batteries, which produces power without fading for 60 minutes. Its advanced whole-machine filtration system traps allergens and releases clean air back into your home. Its specialized head uses stiff nylon bristles that penetrate deep into carpets and pick up large particles or fine dust. It has three different suction modes that can be adjusted to the specific task. It can quickly change between handheld and floor vacuum, and vice versa.

The model comes with an attached dock that charges the Dyson to 100 percent within 3.5 hours. It also gives easy access to 2 attachments as well as a Wand. This is a significant improvement over older Dysons, which require a lengthy charge and are a pain to store.

The V10's biggest drawback is its sluggish run time. Its claims on the market that it has up to 60 minutes of running time are not true, as CR's testing shows. This is an average not an extraordinary time for the battery-powered cordless vacuum. That's still enough run time to vacuum the majority of a typical-sized home however, it's not enough to cover every area (though the second time around usually will suffice). This model has its own advantages however: it's lighter and more mobile than previous Dysons cordless models and its ability to vacuum is significantly better on low-pile floor carpet.

4. iRobot Roomba 694

One of iRobot's most popular robot vacuums, the 694 is an entry-level model that's a good option for those who don't want to invest too much on a robot. It was able to remove all kinds of debris in our testing and often went over the same area multiple times to ensure an extensive clean. Its flat front side helps it reach into corners and along the edges of walls and top Rated robot vacuum walls, which is a nice feature.

Its intelligent navigation system makes use of iAdapt technology to avoid obstacles and help you navigate your home. However, it lacks the capabilities for mapping of more advanced models, such as our top picks, the i3+EVO and J7+ Series. Because of this, it can sometimes get stuck on things like phone cords and furniture that isn't in good condition, and often will run out of battery before returning to its home base.

It also feels better-built and has a stronger motor, and is able to perform better on bare floors and low-pile carpet, while providing a wider array of features for automation.

5. Samsung Jet Bot AI+

Samsung is a well-known brand in home electronics. It's not surprising that they are also among the top manufacturers of robot vacuum cleaner for sale vacuums and mop. Jet Bot AI+ has a cutting-edge onboard technology for navigation and obstacle avoidance.

The app provides plenty of options to customize your robotic cleaner, such as virtual barriers, mopping water levels and behavior modification, docking frequency settings, and more. It's easy to understand and easy to use, just as is the case with other Samsung devices.

In our tests our tests, the Jet Bot AI+ excelled on hard floors and handled dog hair (on carpet) very well, picking up 86% of it. It was not as successful in avoiding taller items such as cords or socks. This was disappointing. It's priced higher than other models we've tested, and this could be a deterrent for some buyers.
