UPVC Replacement Door Handles

Inline Lever/Lever

A lever/lever handle is a contemporary door handle designed to work with new or replacement doors. This type of handle is available in many designs and finishes. A number of manufacturers offer this handle, including Avocet ERA, Fullex, Hoppe, Mila, Millenco & Yale.

Lever Pad

A Lever Pad upvc door handle operates differently from lever-type Window handles for wooden Windows on doors. These handle types can either use a single spindle (inline) or independently from each side using two inline or offset spindles (pad). They are commonly used on UPVC doors with double glazing window handles glazing. They are available in a range of finishes and variations.

The handles are available in a variety of finishes including White Chrome, and Gold. The finish is compliant with BS EN 1670:2007 Grade 5 and is also resistant to corrosion, giving the handle a high level of durability and performance for the intended use.

All of the UPVC lever pad designs are supplied with a spindle and screws, allowing them to be fitted on a new or existing uPVC door. It is essential to avoid having a cylinder that extends beyond the handle or escutcheon. This could make it vulnerable to snapping lock attacks.

The design of most newer cylinders has anti-drilling and bump resistance features. They are designed to decrease the risk of attack by forcing the cylinder rotate in an opposite direction. This will help to prevent attacks and ensure your doors are secure.

Certain cylinders are constructed to withstand snapping. This is a growing kind of attack on cylinders, where the break line in the lock is smashed with a special tool to snap off the front of the cylinder to allow the door to open. This is much quicker and more straightforward than gaining access through multipoint locks and leaves little evidence of a break-in which can hinder the insurance claim.

Spring Cassette

The spring cassette is located inside the base of the door handle backplate providing a sprung solution that returns your multipoint lock handles to their normal position after usage. The handles had no spring and would droop when the locking mechanism was removed. This simple feature is among the most effective ways to fix this and it is also an effective way to keep your upvc doors from getting stuck in either closed or open position, since they are not always easy to close manually.

These spring cassettes are specially designed for use with multipoint locks that are sprung, they will not fit unsprung multipoint handles and you must have a custom hole cut into your backplate to allow these to fit (please check the image for a technical diagram). They are a replacement for broken or missing cassettes within the backplate of the door handle for many kinds of uPVC doors. They have an elongated square that can accommodate an 8mm spindle, and are sold as a set.
