Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade

Item upgrade, commonly called "upping," improves an item's stats. Each upgrade increment provides an increase in the linearity of the stats of a particular.

Players can recycle up to six items at a time in order to gain a level gauge for each of the upgraded components. The cost of recycling items increases according to their rarity and level.
