How to Replace an audi key copy G28 Engine Speed Sensor

1. Engine Speed Sensor
It is located on the outside of the transmission above the flywheel ring gear, the G28 Engine Speed Sensor sends an electrical signal to ECU pin T55/49 using the grey wire. The ECU uses this information to control fuel and boost. It also sends an indicator to the G5 Tachometer in instrument cluster.
The sensor is used to link with the G40 Camshaft position Sensor. The ecu must know when the crankshaft is TDC and where the camshaft is located so that it can start spark and injectors in the right way.
If this sensor fails the ECU will throw an error code P00160 which indicates that the Crank Shaft and Intake Camshaft are out of sync and Programming Audi Key possibly indicating the chain is stretched or a jump link on the upper chain of timing. The code will not appear without the additional information provided by other sensors (G4 or G40).
It is a little tricky to test since there are different pins on the connector and they all have different functions. The best method for doing this is to measure the resistance between the ECU and the sensor. When the sensor is fully functional, it should read around 1000 ohms. If you're having issues with this part, check for evidence of oil or coolant in the connector bay.
2. Injectors
Yesterday, while accelerating at full speed from the highway paytoll, I experienced an abrupt drop in power like the engine is out of gas or the injectors are not firing anymore. I pulled out the spark plugs this morning, three were soaked with gasoline and the fourth was dry. When I crank the engine without sparks i put tissue on the top of each hole in the injector, the 3 drenched with gazoline jump out but the 4th stay closed. I tried to test the ground connections of ECU pins 14,30 and 48/55. I found 0ohm. I assume that the problem is in another location.
I also tried to reset PID without success. The car is able to start when the G28 is not plugged in and is running fine when it is connected, but still has intermittent misfire issues at higher RPM. The temperature sensor for coolant (G62) shows the wrong temp value -49c even when i unplug it. I also noticed that the oil gauge in the cockpit shows 2 bars when the actual pressure is 0.
I'm not sure what to do, i think i've pretty much eliminated everything else. I'm concerned that i may have missed something. If anyone has suggestions, please share them! TIA!
3. Fuel Pump
The fuel pump on the g28 is activated by a signal by the RPM sensor. The GM-style transmitter is the same as the G4 and both function in the 80 100 200, UrS and RS2 cars which is why you can easily locate one at a junkyard or from a parts store. It is easy to test them - simply switch your DMM into resistance mode and determine the distance between pins 1 and 2 (with the bump at the connector's end facing upwards). They must be infinite ohms.

Our 20vt turbo (3B, AAN, ABY and ADU) engines have an ECU that has to know the speed and position of the crankshaft in order to make decisions regarding timing of the fuel injector, for example. To do this, it makes use of a Crank Position Sensor (G4) and an Engine Speed Sensor (G28).
