WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades will give you a an increase in specific statistics. Each upgrade increases item level by 3. A random additional substat is also added to every upgrade.

Upgraded gear is generally more valuable, unless it is not required by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a high variance in stats (like Eth Titan weapons). The latter see less value from upgrading due to the need to roll to get a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader allows players to upgrade gear to a higher level by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of weapon or armor. The item used to upgrade the item will be consumed and can't be used again. Upgrades can also be used to create the enchantments.

You can upgrade item your gear at any time by visiting the upgrader in any major city. To keep your gear up-to-date, it is recommended that you visit the upgrader every few weeks.

Upgrades will cost more, based on the level of the item however, they are always cheaper than purchasing new gear. Upgrades such as upgrading a Benthic chest up to 385 ilvl will cost you 20 recycle points. A similar item will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used for weapons, armor, tools, and accessory upgrades. They can be purchased through NPCs who sell upgrades to item owners for a variety of currencies. They are also available on random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade can be used on any weapon, tool or armor. button, which will show an image of the item at the next upgrade level if the player has sufficient materials.

Upgrade costs vary depending on the slot for the item level upgrade and the current level of the item. For example, weapons will cost more than gloves, bracers, or bracers. Each step costs 15 Flightstones plus a set number of crests. Some upgrades offer discounts on Flightstones. For instance, once an item is at the highest level of upgrading for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic), it won't need Flightstones to be upgraded. This change is designed to allow players to get their equipment up to the highest ilvl possible on all their characters, instead of relying on seasonal loot.

Another important change is that crests have one usage, so it's important to use them wisely. It is recommended to put your Whelpling-rank Crests on the highest-quality gear that you can find and keep Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next round of upgrades. This is particularly true for items like rings and trinkets that fill multiple slots on the character that will be able to avail the discount for all accounts when all of the slots are filled with high-quality equipment.
