Path of Exile Item Upgrading

The ability to upgrade items allows players to enhance their weapons and equipment with new affixes, boosting its stats base or adding additional perks. To upgrade items, the player must have the item in their inventory and have access to the kiln.

Usually objects that have weak bases (like rings) can be upgraded to a stronger base while items with strong bases like Eth titans don't change much in their stats after being upgraded.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components can be added to weapons, armors trinkets, weapons, and gathering tools. They give you an attribute bonus or extra effect, while the equipment is in use. They can be purchased from vendors, or found in loot from enemies, or received from chests or missions. Some upgrades can have additional cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be at a certain level before you can upgrade.

To upgrade the quality of a weapon, armor or other item in the game, the player will need to select it and then click on the Upgrade button in the toolbar. This will display a preview on the right side of the screen showing what the expected upgrade statistics will be, as well as the necessary component or material needed to make that happen.

There are three kinds: universal upgrades (which include gems) prefix upgrades and suffix upgrade components. Universal upgrades, which comprise gems, can be placed in any type of equipment and provide smaller bonuses than upgrade components that are type-restricted. Infusions, which can only be placed in ascended gear or legendary equipment are similar to gems, but offer higher bonuses and cannot be placed in any other equipment. Suffix upgrades can be added to gathering tools. They add the suffix at the end of the names of items. For example adding the suffix Glyph will transform a Staff wrapping of Minor Vigor into a Canthan staff wrapping of Minor Vigor.

In the instance of upgrades for gathering tools, if a player replaces one glyph by another the old glyph will be returned to the inventory. If you replace another upgrade component with a glyph, it will be destroyed, except for the inscriptions that can be freely swapped.

Leveling

Path of Exile's upgrade process differs from previous versions in some important ways. Gear is now classified into tracks, and each item can be upgraded as many times before it is "leveled out." The costs for upgrading increase with each level, however the materials required for upgrades do not. This allows players to focus their efforts on a handful of key items and maximize their impact, instead of spreading upgrade costs across multiple items.

If an item is completed, it will be capable of receiving an upgrade set of components, and a boost in the chance that the upgrade will succeed. This bonus is known as Artisan’s Energy and it resets at 0 if the upgrade fails or increases if the upgrade succeeds.

When a piece is upgraded to its highest level, it can receive affixes to boost its attributes. The number of affixes that are available depends on the item's base type. For instance, an uncommon or unique weapon that has a standard base will have only two affixes, while a legend armor will have eight affixes.

Each upgrade requires a certain number of Flightstones and crests to complete, depending on the item's current level and the item slot it's in. In general, weapons will require more Flightstones to upgrade than other kinds of equipment.

If an item is not able to reach its max level the NPC will offer the player the option to transfer it to another character and then re-infuse it with a different set of upgrades. The process can take as long as two hours and costs the same amount of material but will have a lower chance of success.

Engineers employ a level to measure the height of the building against an established location, such as a benchmark. This is referred to as a "level-loop." It involves taking readings with the level, backsighting rod and then turning the level to take the foresighting rod reading. This method ensures that buildings are constructed to a high degree of precision and security.

Rerolling

Rerolling is the process of changing the upgrade components of an item upgrader mod. It is an important aspect of the game and can significantly improve an item's strength or damage, as well as other characteristics. This can be done via the item menu or clicking the Reroll button on an upgraded item. Rerolling can be expensive and should only be performed in rare cases.

Reroll tokens are earned by recycling upgraded items. These tokens can be used to upgrade the original item, or to upgrade another item of the same type. Recyclable items have a gauge that shows the level of upgrade. The rarity and the cost of upgrading an item will determine the level of filling.

Prior to this, certain upgrades were given priority affixes, which made them more accessible for players to roll. This meant that you'd get the stats most important to your build more frequently than other items. This included stats such as the armor's total armour, thorns, and control impaired duration reduced stats or the weapons' bonus attack speed and strike chance.

This has changed since the last patch. Priority affixes were removed, and all upgrades have the same chance of rolling for each stat. This can be a great or a bad thing, dependent on your needs and wants from your equipment.

Each upgraded item can have a unique, fixed-value bonus that increases its strength by a certain percentage. These bonuses are added into the usual affixes. The more you upgrade an item, the better chances of obtaining a unique bonus.

The game also includes number sets that grant the player a bonus if three or four upgraded items from the set are equipped on an item upgrade. This is a good method to give a character a lot more power without spending a lot of money.

Many players prefer to reroll their equipment and weapons, especially in the beginning of the game. This is because rerolling could give players a faster route to becoming a strong character which allows them to achieve higher levels and progress in the game much more quickly.

Sets

Sets are groups of elements that can be put together in a variety of ways. They can have different sizes, have no elements at all, or contain a single element. They can be utilized to organize data or to sort information. They can also be used to study patterns. Sets can be categorized in many ways, such as by size and shape.

The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom provides an array of upgradeable set items. Certain items are worth upgrading and others aren't. Armor sets with high defense values or set bonuses are usually worth upgrading. Weapon upgrades aren't as effective in improving stats as their counterparts in purple. This makes them less attractive to upgrade when your collection of weapons and armor pieces is already extensive.

Some set items are upgraded to meet their own special functions which can be useful in some builds. This is evident in Aldur's Advance Boots and Guillaume's Face. Both were upgraded from Exceptional Winged Helm and Exceptional Mirrored Boots respectively, boosting their defense by 217 to 321 (Strength requirement and Level requirement was increased as well).

Another reason to upgrade item (original site) certain items is to bring them up to parity with their levels. The Immortal King Set, for instance, comes with a wide range of levels ranging from 29 to 75. The upgrade of lower-level items in the set can increase their defense and make them more competitive in terms of damage.

Clicking the Upgrade button will show the item's attributes and the items required to upgrade it. This will display the item's characteristics, as well as the necessary items required to upgrade it. For instance, the No-mouth Face will require 1.1K Scrap Materials and 250 Enchanted Dust, and 5 Glowing Shards to upgrade. Alternatively, players can go to the Leaderboard or Golden vendor in Cyrodiil to check the requirements for upgrading specific items.

Generally speaking, weapons and jewelry offer more value for trade when they are fully upgraded than armor. Particularly, for weapons that feature damage glyphs that are spell-like or weapon-related, upgrading them to gold is recommended because it will result in a significant improvement in their stats. This will also boost the defense value of armor that has an updated appearance.
