Robots That Vacuum and Mop

Robots that vacuum and mop provide the convenience of removing dry debris (dust dirt) and wet messes (spills, staining) in one go without having to swap out devices. They can also reduce space when compared to two separate units, especially in smaller living areas.

A good combination bot will offer excellent navigation and obstacles avoidance. Look for models that have docks that allow them to automatically empty their bins, fill their water tanks and wash the mopping pads.

1. Eufy S1 Pro

It has a lot to offer at a modest price, and it's among the easiest robots we've tested to set up. Unpacking is simple, and the quick-start guide gets you up and running in no time with an entire dust bag, water tank, and a hard floor.

The S1 Pro is a powerful little machine that cleans up a mess and vacuums well too. The mops spin at high speed and Automatic Vacuum Cleaner use 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to swiftly get rid of pet hair, dirt and sticky dried spills. The vacuum cleaner comes with four power settings, as well as a selection of attachments and brushes and an intuitive app which lets you select the type of cleaning you'd like to do for each room.

For example, you can choose to have the robot do a deep clean in the kitchen and living rooms but take it easy in the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro's front collision sensors and its smart navigation technology are superb and the robot is capable of detecting tiny obstacles that other models struggle with. The only drawback is that it tends to crash into walls and objects at full speed. Like the two other Roborock models I've tested it also has a 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology which help it avoid furniture, walls and other obstacles. But the S8 Pro Ultra takes things one step further by adding a dual camera which can recognize objects and determine whether they're a wall or another type of surface. It is able to change its course automatically and clean the objects without missing a step.

It's the most expensive model I've tried and it comes with the most features. Its sleek, angular design is eye-catching and it only has three physical buttons: the power button, that also resumes cleaning; a mop button that doubles as a child lock and a home button to return the robot cleaner with mop to its dock. The hinged lid opens up to reveal a 350ml dustbin and 200ml water tank. The water tank is automatically filled and the bin automatically refills.

The only issue I have discovered with this model is that the VibraRise mop pad mount is not removable. It is possible to replace the mopping cloth if required, but it's a challenge to remove the mount for washing manually. I've found that any plush carpet that the robot touches will come into contact with the rough Velcro-like fastener system on the mount, and can cause abrasions.

The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a number smart features that include support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. The Roborock app is where you can manage and set up these features. It also contains maps and advanced mopping options. The app allows you to schedule cleanings, track the life of batteries and maintenance on components. But you'll need to jump through a few hurdles to enable voice control on this model, which is a shame considering the quality of its performance.

3. Dreame X40

The Dreame X40 is an industry-leading robot vacuum and mop equipped with outstanding suction power, advanced mowing capabilities, and ingenuity features. Its intelligent design allows users to tailor and effectively clean while reducing time.

The X40 robot vacuum cleaner is the first to offer 12,000 Pascals cleaning power. It is among the most powerful choices available. This powerful vacuum removes dry debris, including pet hair and dust. It comes with a mop of excellent quality that can clean hard floors without the use of a pad. Additionally the X40 is extremely quiet during its operation, with only occasional bursts of noise when switching between modes or when completing self-maintenance tasks.

Another standout feature is the X40's expandable and liftable side brush which allows it to get into difficult-to-access corners as well as clean furniture such as table and chairs' legs. It also allows the best robot vacuum that mops to reach under low-profile furniture making it an ideal option for apartments or condominiums with small spaces. It can be controlled via the Dreame App or Alexa, Siri, or Google Home to ensure that voice-controlled operations are smooth and easy.

The app is simple to use and intuitive and the X40 comes with a variety of smart features that are easy to configure. Users can program the X40 to clean at certain times. It can also be adjusted to adjust suction power, change modes, look at floor plans and maps and manage mopping settings. The X40 can also monitor its progress and notify you when it's done.

The X40 is easy to keep clean and has many features which make it a good choice for busy families. Its docking station automatically empties the trash bin into a 3.2 L bin, cleans the mop pads, and refills them with fresh water and cleaning solution. It can also tell when the mop pad is filled and notify you before it overflows, reducing the need for manual maintenance.

4. L20 Ultra

It's a bit heavier than the other two-in-one robots on this list, at 4kg - but it's not obscenely heavy either, and it is sturdy and well-built. Mopping is well designed and the double-rotating mop is a great choice for hard floors or in corners. The MopExtend feature lets them reach up to 2mm below baseboards.
