WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades will give you a boosts in specific statistics. Each upgrade boosts the level of an item upgrade by 3. A random substat is also added to every upgrade.

Upgraded gear is generally more valuable, unless the item level upgrade - please click the next document, has a low requirement by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a large variance in stats (like eth Titan weapons). These types of gear get less value from upgrading due to the necessity to roll for a perfect model.

Recycle Points

The upgrader for items allows players to upgrade their gear to a higher item level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of armor or weapons. When a piece attains the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer) it will no longer require Flightstones. This is to allow players to get their equipment up to the highest ilvl possible on all their characters, rather than relying solely on seasonal loot.

Another significant modification is that crests have one use, so it's important to use them wisely. It is recommended to use your Whelpling-rank crests on the Best item upgrader gear you can find and keep Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next set of upgrades. This is especially relevant for rings and trinkets that take up multiple slots on the character which can only be eligible to take advantage of the account-wide discount if all of the slots are filled with high-quality equipment.
