WoW Upgrades - The Item Level Upgrade Upgrader

Upgrades will give you a boost to certain stats. Each upgrade boosts the level of the item upgrader mod by +3. Each upgrade also boosts the random substatus.

The upgraded gear is usually more useful, unless the item is not required by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a large variance in stats (like the eth Titan weapons). These types of gear get less value from upgrading due to the need to roll for a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The upgrader for items allows players to upgrade gear to a higher item level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be made on any kind of weapon or armor. The item used to upgrade the item will be consumed and can't be used again. Upgrades can be applied to enchantments.

You can upgrade your equipment anytime by visiting the upgrader in any major city. It is recommended that you visit the upgrader once every few weeks to ensure that your equipment is up-to-date.

Upgrades will cost more depending on the item upgrading level, but they will always be cheaper than buying new gear. Upgrades like upgrading a Benthic chest to ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. A similar item will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used to upgrade weapon, armor, tool and accessory upgrades. They are purchased by players from NPCs that sell upgrades to items in exchange for a variety of currencies, and can also be found in random treasure lists. Once an upgrade has been purchased it can be applied to any weapon, tool, or armor using the help of button, which will show an item's preview at its next upgrade level if the player has sufficient materials.

The cost of upgrading varies based on the item slot, and the current item upgrade level. For example weapons cost more than bracers, or gloves. Each step costs 15 Flightstones and a few crests, with some upgrades offering discounts to reduce the cost of Flightstones or crests that are used. After an item upgrader has been upgraded to a certain amount it is able to be downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower cost.

Upgraders for items can be found in a variety of locations including the main island as well as some outposts. The NPCs offer an upgrade coupon and the possibility of obtaining the latest recipe. The discount on upgrades increases depending on the amount of items that are being upgraded. It is also possible to be increased by having players complete specific achievements or quests.

This change is intended to allow players to upgrade their equipment up to the highest ilvl possible on all their characters, rather than relying solely on seasonal loot.

Another notable modification is that crests have one use and it's crucial to use them properly. For instance, it's best to use all of your Whelpling-rank crests on the best equipment available and save Drake and Wyrm crests to use for the next set of upgrades you're planning to create. This is particularly relevant for rings and trinkets that fill multiple slots on the character which can only be eligible to avail the account-wide discount if all slots are filled with top-quality equipment.
