The best robot hoover can clean and mop without requiring your attention, and will leave your floors clean. Its price is surprisingly low and features that are high-end (such as dirt detection) are great features.

Like other iRobots with premium features (including the top model) they employ smart mapping to create detailed floor plans and eliminate household obstacles like cords and furniture legs. They also feature carpet boost, a feature that increases the robot's power when it sees an abundance of dirt on the carpet in order to get it cleaned quickly.

The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored very well in our tests on bare floors, and they are particularly adept at cleaning hair from dogs. However, they have some flaws that prevent them from being our top pick. One of the weaknesses of the Q5 is that its navigation system doesn't have AI-powered obstacles avoidance. It's therefore prone to become stuck on shoes and socks, and it couldn't navigate through rooms with a lot of people well in our tests. It doesn't also have a camera that can see around corners.

It's still a good value, especially if your office or home has lots of unfinished flooring and you're looking to save money. It's also very quiet and can be used when you're at work or school. It lacks the edge-to-edge bare floor vacuuming that is available in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective in mopping. It relies on disposable wet wipes that don't stick very well and cannot handle dried-on debris. The Q5 does have self-emptying docks, however. If you need to, the mopping pad can be changed for one that is wet in just a few just a few seconds.

2. iRobot Roomba X30

The iRobot Roomba X30 is a compact elegant vacuum cleaner that can also sweep floors. Its smart cleaning maps and quick navigation make it easy to clean, and efficient in dealing with larger particles, like pet hair. It also comes with a self-emptying bin with powerful suction and support for virtual boundaries. It's the best automatic vacuum robot hoover for carpets, however it falls behind some competitors in terms of deep cleaning.

This highly efficient combination vacuum and mop utilizes advanced sensors to avoid obstacles and pet waste, and it will learn the layout of your home over time for more efficient cleaning. The app lets you modify zones and alter the cleaning schedule. Its battery life is average in comparison to other models.

3. IRobot Roomba X40

With an elegant circular design that looks like a regular Roomba than the competition's compact models this mop and robot vacuum is among the most appealing looking in our evaluations. The newest model from iRobot happens to be its smartest model, with features that are cutting-edge like Enhanced Dirt Detection Technology as well as future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that can autonomously wash mop pads).

It's the only robotic mop or vacuum that has 100% in our evaluations, thanks to a combination of high-tech sensors that include cameras, a structured light system, and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot vacuum cleaner reviews we tested that could fill and empty its basestation on its own. It also boasted an industry-leading suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mops.

Like other iRobot models like the X40 is easy to use, offering an easy mobile app interface and integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit as well as Google Assistant. The only real drawback is that it's loud, which can be an issue if you use it in the morning prior to work or in the evening as you try to sleep.

It's also somewhat expensive, though it's not as expensive as the Ecovacs Omni or Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra both of which are equally capable and look better. This is a dual-purpose vacuum that's extremely powerful however it's going to cost you more and make more noise.

iRobot L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the high-end robot vacuum reviews vacuum and mop. It has a number of advanced features that will help you forget your chores. It also has a front mounted camera for real-time hazards detection but this wasn't foolproof in our tests and was often confused with power cords or obstructions.

Its vacuum has a suction maximum of 7,000 Pascals, which is more than enough to complete the task. It also has an attribute known as "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates the power of the vacuum and adjusts cleaning frequency for different areas of the house based on how dirty the areas are.

If you have a bigger home, you should consider choosing a model that has spot or zone cleaning mode. This allows you to inform the robot of which area of your house needs to be cleaned by using the app or voice control. If you have a lot of furniture, a stair mode is also a good option. For busy families, a recharge feature and resume feature that permits your robot vacuum cleaner vacuum to resume where it left off can be extremely useful.

5. iRobot Roomba RX3

The RX3 is more advanced than the price suggests. It vacuums well, picking up 55% debris in our tests. (It was second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mopses using one pad and a reciprocating movement that cleans better that most of the mop cleaners with robots that we've tested. It's also highly self-sufficient, with a fully-featured application, and a self emptying, washable base.
